Massage FAQs
While therapeutic massage shouldn’t be severely painful, you may experience some discomfort when we work on tight or problematic areas. It’s normal to feel mild soreness after a treatment, particularly if it was your first massage or if we were addressing chronic muscle tension. This is due to the release of metabolic waste from the muscles and typically subsides within 24-48 hours. Remember, you can always request adjustments to pressure during your session—effective massage doesn’t need to be painful to achieve results!
This is entirely up to you! Some clients prefer quiet relaxation, while others find conversation helpful. Your therapist will follow your lead. We do encourage you to communicate about pressure, comfort, pain, or any adjustments needed during your treatment. Otherwise, feel free to remain silent and focus on relaxing.
Your therapist will discuss your health goals, select cupping points, and sanitize the skin. Cups are applied for 5–10 minutes, followed by tiny incisions and reapplication of suction. The process takes 30–60 minutes, depending on your needs.
Many Muslims value Hijama as a Sunnah practice believed to carry spiritual blessings (barakah). It’s often performed on specific Islamic days (17th, 19th, 21st of the lunar month) for enhanced benefits.
No. We use disposable, medical-grade plastic cups and single-use blades to prevent cross-contamination. Your safety is our priority.
No, massage therapy is not typically covered by provincial healthcare plans. However, many extended health benefits plans, workplace insurance, and motor vehicle accident insurance plans provide coverage. We recommend checking your specific plan details.

Let your therapist know before your session begins. They can adjust their techniques to use firmer pressure, which typically reduces ticklishness. If certain areas are particularly sensitive, they can modify their approach or avoid those spots if necessary.
While relaxation is certainly a wonderful benefit, massage therapy offers many therapeutic advantages beyond stress relief. Regular massage can help:
- Reduce chronic pain and muscle tension
- Improve range of motion and flexibility
- Enhance circulation and lymphatic flow
- Lower blood pressure and heart rate
- Boost immune system function
- Reduce headache frequency and intensity
- Improve sleep quality
- Manage anxiety and depression symptoms

You’ll only need to undress to your personal comfort level. Many clients prefer to remove most clothing for better access to muscle groups, while others feel more comfortable keeping undergarments on. Our therapists use professional draping techniques to ensure only the area being worked on is exposed, while the rest of your body remains covered. For certain treatments like specific injury assessments, loose-fitting clothing may be recommended. Your privacy and comfort are always our priority.
Not at all! This is a natural physiological response that happens frequently during massage. As your muscles relax, air can be released, especially when pressure is applied to certain areas. Our therapists are professionals who understand this is simply part of the human body functioning normally.
Yes, when performed by certified professionals like our therapists. We adhere to strict hygiene protocols, using single-use, sterilized blades and medical-grade cups. Our Therapists are professionally trained and certified.
Most clients report minimal discomfort. The incisions are superficial, akin to a light scratch. Sensations vary, but relaxation is common during/after sessions. Communicate openly with your therapist to ease concerns.
We recommend drinking plenty of water to help flush metabolic waste from your tissues, avoiding strenuous activity for the remainder of the day if possible, and applying ice to any areas that feel particularly tender. Your therapist may also suggest specific stretches or self-care techniques based on your treatment.
This varies based on your specific situation. For acute injuries or severe tension, weekly sessions might be recommended initially. For chronic condition management, bi-weekly appointments often work well. For stress management and wellness maintenance, monthly sessions can be beneficial. Your therapist will suggest an appropriate schedule based on your individual needs and response to treatment.
Absolutely. We respect your comfort and preferences. When booking, simply let us know if you prefer a male or female therapist, and we’ll accommodate your request.
Falling asleep during massage is actually a compliment to your therapist—it means you’re relaxed and comfortable! Snoring and even light drooling are completely normal responses to deep relaxation. Our therapists view these as positive signs that you’re receiving the full benefits of your treatment.

Cups are placed on specific points (often aligned with acupuncture or Sunnah points) to create suction. This stimulates circulation, lifts tissues, and draws out toxic blood after gentle incisions. The process balances the body’s “humors” (a traditional concept) and supports natural healing.

Your therapist will explain their recommended approach before stepping out of the room to allow you to undress privately and get comfortable on the massage table. Following your session, your therapist may suggest self-care techniques and a treatment plan based on your needs.
