Massage Mojo — Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) govern your use of Massage Mojo’s website, online booking system, communications, and in‑clinic services (collectively, the “Services”). By booking, visiting, or using any Service, you agree to these Terms.
Plain‑English summary: These Terms explain what you can expect from us, what we expect from you, how we handle privacy, payments, cancellations, boundaries and safety, and how disputes are handled under Alberta law.

Eligibility & scope of practice
- Services are for clients aged 18+. Minors (under 18) require parent/guardian consent and presence on premises unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- Our therapists practice within the scope of massage therapy, which does not include diagnosis, prescriptions, or medical treatment. Massage therapy complements—not replaces—care from regulated health professionals. If you require medical attention, consult your physician or call emergency services.
Health information, consent & safety
- Informed consent: Before treatment, you’ll complete an intake form and discuss goals, techniques, risks/benefits, areas to be treated, draping, and pressure preferences. You may withdraw consent at any time.
- Accuracy: You agree to provide complete and accurate health information and to update us about changes (injuries, surgeries, pregnancy, medications, skin conditions, etc.).
- Contraindications: Therapists may modify or decline treatment if they believe massage may be unsafe or inappropriate.
- Illness policy: If you’re ill (fever, contagious infection, GI symptoms, etc.), please rebook. We may reschedule you at our discretion for safety.
- Scent & hygiene: We maintain a low‑scent environment; please limit fragrances. Arrive clean and on time.
- Assistive devices & accessibility: Tell us about any accessibility needs in advance; we’ll make reasonable efforts to accommodate.
Professional boundaries & conduct
- Draping: Professional draping is used at all times. Only areas consented to by you are treated.
- Respectful environment: Harassment, sexualized comments/behavior, or intoxication leads to immediate termination of the session; full fees apply and future service may be refused.
- Right to refuse service: We may refuse or discontinue treatment if safety, ethics, or appropriateness is in question.
Appointments, lateness, cancellations & no‑shows
- Booking: Appointments are confirmed only after we send written confirmation (email/SMS/app).
- Lateness: If you arrive late, your session may be shortened to end on time; full fees apply.
- Cancellation window: Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule.
- Fees: Late cancellations < 2 hours notice may be charged 50% of the booking. No‑shows are charged 100% of the booking.
- How to cancel: Use the booking link, call, or email
- Weather/emergencies: We may waive fees for severe weather or emergencies at our discretion.
6) Fees, payments, insurance & receipts
- Pricing: Current fees are shown at booking/checkout and may change without notice for future appointments.
- Payment methods: Credit/Debit cards | e‑transfer | cash | due at time of service.
- Direct billing/benefits: If available, direct billing is a courtesy and not guaranteed. You remain responsible for any amounts not covered by your plan.
- Receipts: We provide receipts with therapist credentials for insurance submission. Submitting false claims is prohibited.
- Packages & memberships:
All prepaid massage sessions and subscription fees purchased are valid for a period of six (6) months from the date of purchase. If the prepaid sessions or subscription benefits are not used within this six-month period, they will expire and become non-refundable and non-transferable. It is the client’s responsibility to schedule and use their sessions within this timeframe. No extensions or rollovers will be granted beyond the six-month validity period except at the sole discretion of the clinic management. - Gift cards: Treated as cash, non‑refundable, and (unless restricted by law) do not expire; lost or stolen cards won’t be replaced.
7) Refunds & returns
- Services: Fees for completed services are non‑refundable. If you’re unhappy, please tell us promptly; we’ll make reasonable efforts to address concerns.
- Prepaid packages/memberships: Refunds are generally not provided; unused balances may be credited at our discretion, less any discounts used.
- Retail products: Returns accepted within 15 days if unopened/unused with receipt; personal‑care items may be final sale.
Privacy & confidentiality (Alberta)
- We collect, use, and safeguard personal information in accordance with Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and other applicable laws.
- What we collect: Contact details, health history, session notes, scheduling and payment information.
- Why we collect: To deliver care, manage bookings, process payments, and meet legal/insurance requirements.
- Storage & access: Records are stored securely; access is limited to authorized staff and practitioners who need it to provide care or run operations.
- Retention: Health records are retained for at least 10 years or longer if required by law or insurer policies, after which they are securely destroyed.
- Sharing: We don’t share your information without consent except as required/permitted by law (e.g., court order, risk of serious harm). With your consent we may share with your healthcare team.
- Marketing communications: With your consent, we may send emails/texts about services and promotions in compliance with Canada’s Anti‑Spam Legislation (CASL). You can unsubscribe anytime.
- Access & corrections: You may request access to or correction of your records; fees may apply for copies.
Website & online booking terms
- Intellectual property: Site content, branding, logos, text, and graphics are owned by Massage Mojo or licensors and may not be used without permission.
- User responsibilities: Don’t misuse the site, attempt unauthorized access, or post unlawful/defamatory content.
- Third‑party links/tools: We may use third‑party booking/payment providers. They have their own terms and privacy practices; we aren’t responsible for their content or availability.
- Cookies/analytics: Our site may use cookies/analytics to improve functionality. By using the site, you consent to such use as described in our Privacy Notice (if posted).
- Availability & changes: Online Services may be unavailable due to maintenance or outages. Features may change without notice.
Risks, disclaimers & limitation of liability
- Inherent risks: Massage therapy involves physical touch and carries rare risks (e.g., soreness, bruising, aggravation of symptoms). Tell your therapist immediately if you experience discomfort.
- No guarantees: We don’t guarantee specific outcomes or results.
- Liability cap: To the maximum extent permitted by law, Massage Mojo and its staff aren’t liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount paid for the session giving rise to the claim.
- Personal property: We aren’t responsible for loss/theft of personal items on the premises.
Promotions, testimonials & reviews
- Promotions: Limited‑time offers may have additional terms (eligibility, expiry, limits).
- Testimonials: Client stories reflect individual experiences and don’t guarantee similar results.
- Reviews: If you post a review, please avoid sharing private health details; you grant us permission to reference public reviews in marketing.
Employment/contractors
Some services may be provided by independent contractors. This doesn’t diminish our commitment to quality, but your therapist remains responsible for their professional conduct and compliance.
Covid‑19/communicable disease notice (as applicable)
We follow current public‑health guidance. Protocols (screening, masking, sanitization) may change. If you’re unwell or recently exposed, please reschedule.
Governing law & disputes
- These Terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and applicable federal laws of Canada.
- Disputes will first be addressed through good‑faith discussion. If unresolved, disputes may be brought before the courts of Alberta (Calgary). You agree to this venue and jurisdiction.
Changes to these Terms
- We may update these Terms from time to time. The Effective date at the top shows when changes apply. Continued use of the Services after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
Acceptance
By booking or receiving services from Massage Mojo, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and that you have had the opportunity to ask questions.
